Super Sod

Growing, Blade by Blade

Redshed was charged with helping this still family-owned company compete with the largest sod and turfgrass brands in America. Family owned means consistently better quality control and going the extra mile. Super-Sod lives up to this in everything it does.

Our objective was to build indelible appeal and trust in the brand and its products, and elevate the brand to reflect the company’s market leadership. We took a bold, modern approach to make it clear that Super-Sod is more than just a bag of sod, and stand out at the retail level amid a sea of competitors.

Super-Sod agreed this was also the perfect opportunity to revamp its trade show booth. Employees came up with the idea of building it from recyled pallets and other items around their farms. We created the design, organized the space, and brought the idea to life, which has since garnered multiple industry awards.

In addition, we created an outdoor campaign also designed to translate to print advertising. The focus was on family with simple, conceptual headlines and related imagery. This was not only to elicit a smile, it indicates Super-Sod is kid and pet safe. This was the first lifestyle campaign the company had done in its 30-plus-year history.

Since working with RedShed, Super-Sod has grown significantly, with a brand that now reflects company’s market position as it continues to grow, blade by blade.
